What a wonderful time we had with our 1st ever "Friday Family Fun & Games Night" last Month (April 30th) via ZOOM! Games like Jeopardy, Family Feud, and Trivia were enjoyed (with a "biblical" twist) by all!

Continue to check the "INFO" section of Shekijah's Mobile app for our next fun night.
God told us to pray in the scriptures. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says that we should “…pray without ceasing.”   One may ask, “What exactly is prayer and how do I do it?” Well, according to the dictionary, it is defined like this:

| Prayer – a solemn request for help or an expression of thanks addressed to God.

So, simply put, we ask God for help and we thank Him for what we believe is already done. Sometimes we can even thank Him for what He will do or is doing. A good place to begin is recorded in Matthew 6:9-13 where Jesus is giving instructions to His disciples on how to pray. This passage of Scripture is known as the Lord’s Prayer and some call it the “Model Prayer.”

SPA NEWS
We are elated to say that throughout the Month of May, Shekijah Preparation Assembly celebrates her 33rd Church Anniversary. The old hymn of the church says, "Through many dangers, toils, and snares, (we) have already come! T'was grace that brought (us) safe thus far and grace will lead us home!"

Today and every day, we say, "To God Be The Glory" for the great and wonderful things He has done!
Praying is really not as hard as some make it. Just follow these simple guidelines:
1. Find a quiet place
2. Begin with the “Model Prayer”
3. Then move on to giving God thanks
4. Ask for His help; His assistance
5. Give God praise for His answer(s)

You will find praying becoming easier and easier as you do it more often. Setting a special time every day (just like “a date with God”), and also at the same time each day️, will always help. But remember, once you start, don’t stop.
